In what form is polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH, PVA, poval) supplied?
It is provided in powder or pellet form.
For customers who do not have equipment to dissolve the powder into an aqueous solution in-house, we can introduce one of our business partners who offers this service.
For more details, please contact your local Kuraray representative or contact us via the contact form.
How should PVOH be dissolved?
Add PVOH to water at room temperature while stirring, then heat to approximately 95 °C and continue stirring for about 30 minutes to 2 hours until it dissolves.
However, the required temperature and time vary depending on the grade, so please refer to the following page as detailed below.
As for KURARAY POVAL™, please click here.
As for EXCEVAL™, please click here.
How much is PVOH?
Prices vary depending on the grade, purchase volume, and distribution channel, so please contact your local Kuraray representative or contact us via the contact form.
What is the storage period (shelf life) for Kuraray's PVOH products?
Kuraray's PVOH products offer long-term stability when stored unopened in their original packaging, in a dry place at normal room temperature.
Key storage considerations are:
1. Water solubility: Keep dry and prevent contact with rain or water.
2. Moisture sensitivity: Avoid high heat and humidity, which can cause the product to absorb moisture and solidify into blocks.
*For information on the specific warranty period, please contact your local Kuraray representative or contact us via the contact form.
Could you send me a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)?
SDS can be accessed by searching for the applicable grade on this page.
Is a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) available?
TDS can be accessed from this page after selecting your region.
