Sustainable fibres as a substitute for plastic: Along with 56 partners from the Piloting Alternatives for Plastics project, at the test centre at VTT in Jyväskylä, Finland, is testing alternatives to plastics for applications such as food packaging, filters, textiles, and wiping, hygiene and construction products. The Kuraray Poval and KURALON™ brands from Kuraray give these materials excellent stability. (Photo: VTT))

New material for strong fibre networks: The new Kuraray Poval™ 200-88 KX grade has high molecular weight and very good film-forming properties, which bring benefits for the applications being investigated by Piloting Alternatives for Plastics. The Kuraray Poval™ and Exceval™ brands of PVOH give fibre networks excellent tensile strength and elasticity — and are also biodegradable. (Photo: Kuraray)
