LCA Assessment for KURARAY POVAL™. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) products manufactured in Frankfurt, Germany

We are excited to announce that Kuraray continues to make significant strides towards sustainability. Our already low CO2 footprint has decreased further, with the following data illustrating this positive trend:

2018 (calculated 2021): 2.47 kg CO2
2021 (calculated 2023): 2.43 kg CO2
2022 (calculated 2023): 2.41 kg CO2
2023: (calculated 2024): 2.36 kg CO2

Kuraray has conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for its KURARAY POVAL™. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) products manufactured in Frankfurt, Germany. Using the cradle-to-gate approach, the assessment shows that the “total climate change” value for 1 kg of KURARAY POVAL™ is 2.43 kg CO2 equivalent for 2021, 2.41 kg CO2 for 2022, and 2.36 kg CO2 for 2023.
